The Expendables have been playing music and making a name for themselves in the surf rock genre since 1997, adopting the laid back atmosphere of Santa Cruz, California. Spending their free time surfing, skating, partying and playing music they are the perfect blend of reggae, punk rock, and 80’s style guitar.

Releasing their first album, “No Time To Worry” in 2000, it soon became a summer favorite. They went on to release their sophomore album in 2001 titled, “Open Container”. This album too became a success with songs like “24/7” and “One Night Stand”.

After recording their third full length album, “Getting Filthy”, they went out on tour with bands like, Eek-A-Mouse, Pepper, Fishbone, Slightly Stoopid, and G Love. Co-Front man of Slightly Stoopid, Miles, Doughty liked The Expendables so much that after they formed their own, “Stoopid Records” they signed The Expendables as their first non-Stoopid (referring to Slightly Stupid) release.

ASlightly Stoopid and G Love producer Chris DiBeneditto went into the studios with The Expendables to help them record their fourth full length album. Their recording process took them to many different studios across the country including, Philadelphonic Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They also worked at Prairie Sun Studios in Cotati, California, a small town just outside of San Francisco. The self-titled fourth album was released in September of 2007 to critical acclaim.

This summer they will be going on tour with 311, playing in places like the summer stage at Central Park in New York City. They will make their way to Hartford for a show at the Webster Underground on June 26, 2009. After their tour with 311 wraps up they are set to go back into the studio to record their fifth album.
